A Very Early Trip into the City

Went into the city this morning with some friends to take photos.  As usual, I couldn't help taking some photos with my phone and Instagram.  Here are the results.

Before the City Wakes Up.

Manchester Unity Building

Flinders Street Station

Swanston Street

Degraves Street

Breakfast

A City Lane Way

A Bird

That's all of them, the good, the bad and the very ugly.  The city is a very different place early in the morning.

More Trips Away

The last two weekends has seen me travelling up to some country areas to photograph some bike races.  My phone is always with me, which means I can take more instagram photos.  Here are some from Harcourt.

It was cold and wet on the first day.

They look like snow, but they were plants that had this gorgeous fluffy flower, but it was too windy, and they were to delicate to get any good images.

A very typical scene from that area.  The gum trees around a dam.

A lot of grapes are grown up in this area.  Of course being the start of winter, the vines have lost their leaves.

Apparently that is a mountain in the background.  The sun came out on the Sunday.  These were all taken the weekend before last, and last weekend I went to Creswick.

This is what I saw while I was waiting for a bunch of riders, I was waiting a long time, they had a long way to come. Funny bare hills.

This was while waiting for more.  I was on top of hill this time.  I thought this would make a great backdrop for the cyclists, and it did.

This is taken at the end, but not in Creswick, this was in Whittlesea, where I found myself on Sunday, photographing a recreational ride.

I like instagram and find it is a lot of fun.  I might just use it for this blog, so you can see where I go according to the images, of course you can follow me on facebook or twittter and then you will know straight away.

Wet Trip to the City

An Instagram trip into the city today.

The view outside the train window.  It was wet and I wasn't looking forward to walking around the city in it.

This is the view we saw after we got up the escalators at Melbourne Central, the shot tower.

These doors were so cute.  They were in Melbourne Central and opened up the store Peter Alexander, famous for Pajamas.

I couldn't resist taking a photo of the lovely baked goods in a Chinese bakery in Bourke Street, around the corner from the Chinatown.

Some of the views on the train when we were leaving the city.  These are the old Housing Commission flats, I believe they are getting rid of a lot of these.

This is the back of the Collingwood Town Hall.  You see it on the train line I have to take to get home, it is an amazing building.  Would love to go inside one day.

This is a strange photo, also taken from inside the train, as the previous two were as well.  I love this station.  I have never got off at it, but I like the way it is on a bend.  West Richmond Station, for anyone who wants to know.

There you have my instagram day in the city.  Hope you had fun on yours as well.
